Tender Pork

  角煮


Ingredients  

Steps 1
  • 500g pork (with fat)
  • 3, 4 slices of fresh ginger
  • 1 or 2 cloves garlic
  • Green onions
  • Water
Step 2 *
  • 2 cups pork broth
  • 3 tbsp. sake
  • 2 1/2 tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tbsp. mirin
  • 4 1/2 tbsp. Soy Sauce

Directions  

Step 1

  1. Cut the pork into cubes, sear in a pan.
  2. Put the pork in a saucepan and add the garlic, the ginger and green onions. Add water to cover the pork.
  3. Trim fat from time to time. When the water is reduced, add hot water.
  4. Simmer 3 to 4 hours.

Step 2

  1. * Mix all the spices and pork broth in a saucepan and add the pork.
  2. Bake about 30 to 40 minutes.

Serve with rice, an egg and bok choy
